Workshop Details:
Join us for a special IN-PERSON cooking class hosted by Sonoko Sakai in the Los Angeles’ Highland Park neighborhood. The workshop will take place in Sonoko’s kitchen-studio. During this class, we’ll work together to make fresh, slippery Udon Noodles from scratch, entirely by hand. Everything from blending and kneading, rolling out and cutting.
After the workshop, I'll have exclusive products available for purchase for workshop attendees, including:
Homemade miso
Oro Blanco furikake and shrub drink
Baked goods
I'm excited to share some special products I brought home from my childhood friend's family store in Tokyo, Yagicho Honten. Their shop has been family-owned for 288 years (since 1737!), and they make some of the best traditional Japanese ingredients that I’ll have excusively available for sale at my pop-up:
Bonito flakes
Furikake
Kombu
Nori
Hand-pulled, hand-dried somen noodles
What to bring:
Comfortable, closed-toe shoes
Apron
Sunhat/Sunglasses/Sunblock/Sweater (October in LA can be unpredictable!)
Beverage (Optional. Complimentary tea and water will be provided)
Kitchen Towel
