Workshop Details:
Join us for a special IN-PERSON cooking class hosted by Sonoko Sakai in the Los Angeles’ Highland Park neighborhood. The workshop will take place in Sonoko’s kitchen-studio. During this class, we’ll work together to make homemade miso from scratch, and you’ll learn about this long-standing process of Japanese fermentation. Miso takes a few months to ferment and mature, so you’ll take home a batch to babysit and ferment after class is complete. Though the miso won’t be ready right away, you won’t be going home hungry! We will provide a complete sit-down lunch after out miso-making wraps up, including miso soup, and a chirashizushi cooked by Sonoko just for your enjoyment. Though the lunch recipes won’t be the workshop focus, Sonoko will demonstrate them for you and provide complete recipes for you to recreate them at home.
***Following sign-up, our team will email you with a PDF file. This file includes the additional workshop details, including event address, parking instructions, a “what to bring” list, and more. Contact us here if you have any lingering questions about this workshop.
